Christian Behavior
Our behavior code is based upon the two great commandments: LOVE GOD and LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Therefore, students, adult volunteers, and parents are expected to treat one another with respect at all times. Let us greet one another in a friendly manner realizing that we journey together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Students who deliberately violate this code of Christ-like behavior will be addressed and parents will be notified. Our aim is to have a peaceful resolution to all problems and to encourage positive future behavior.
Attendance
Students are expected to be present and on time for class each week. Absence interferes with the continuous program of religious instruction and could jeopardize a student’s readiness to receive a sacrament or move to the next level. Students who are absent must make up missed class work and assignments. Please contact your catechist for this information.
Communication
The youngest or only child from each family will receive “one-per-family” communications from the office. Information will also be posted on the PREP webpage: prep.steleanor.com.
Parking Lot
THE SAFETY OF EACH PERSON IS OUR PRIORITY. For drop-off and pick-up, parents must park in an available parking spot.
The curb to the back of the building is a “NO PICK-UP, NO STOPPING ZONE”.
All drivers must observe the driving lanes and NO PARKING areas specified in the parking lot.
Disregard for the parking zones and orders may result in cars being ticketed by the borough police who patrol the parking area.
Arrival of Students
All who transport children to PREP are to park and walk students to the building. Children in levels 1- 3 are to be accompanied to their classrooms.
Dismissal Plan
Parents wait in the school lobby until the dismissal signal is sounded. At the signal, the plan for dismissal is the following:
Levels 1, 2, 3: A parent/authorized adult (not an older child/sibling) goes to his/her child’s classroom. Children will remain in their classroom until the parent/adult enters the room. Adults enter the classroom by one door and leave by the other. Kindly notify the catechist in writing if an adult other than a parent is picking up your child.
Levels 4, 5, 6: Students remain in their classroom until dismissed by their catechist. Students will come to the upper lobby to meet their adult.
STUDENTS MAY NOT LEAVE THE BUILDING UNTIL THEIR ADULT COMES TO MEET THEM.
Early Pick-up Procedure
If a student needs to leave class early, the procedure is as follows:
- Parent presents a written note to the catechist before class begins.
- At the time of pick-up, a parent comes to the PREP office to sign the “Early Dismissal Register”. The child will be brought to the office at that time. Early pick-up should be a rare necessity since it interferes with the instructional time and setting.
Custody Arrangements
Please be sure to present a copy of your custody arrangements to the program director or coordinator. These are held in confidence.
Inclement Weather
The cancellation of classes due to inclement weather or emergency is as follows:

- The first line of contact will be via the Instant Alert cal system. In order to receive these alerts, parents or guardians must register for Instant Alert on the PREP webpage: prep.steleanor.com.
- Class cancellation will also be announced on KYW News Radio 1060. Our closing number is 1127.
- A recorded message will be left on the PREP answering machine.
